Capcom Classics Collection is a compilation of Capcom arcade games that was released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox on September 27, 2005. It was developed by Digital Eclipse Software (now Backbone Entertainment). A second volume, Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2 was released on November 24, 2006, also for PS2 and Xbox.

Two PlayStation Portable compilations, Capcom Classics Collection Remixed and Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded were released on March 22 and October 24, 2006, respectively. A Game Boy Advance compilation, Capcom Classics Mini Mix, was released on September 19, 2006. This contains Bionic Commando, Mighty Final Fight and Strider from the NES or Famicom.

Many of the games included in this compilation were re-released as part of Capcom Arcade Cabinet for PS3 and XBox 360 from February 19, 2013 to April 17, 2013.[1] An arcade machine was made to promote the Capcom Arcade Cabinet series at the Gadget Show Live 2013 in Birmingham, UK.[2]

Trivia[]

  • Classics Collection Vol. 2 features only titles not included in the Capcom Generations series, and has excluded Super Street Fighter II (1993) over a copy of Block Block (1991) despite the Breakout-type game being already featured on Capcom Puzzle World for the PlayStation Portable.
