Maximo as he appears in Maximo vs. Army of Zin.

Maximo is a character from the Ghosts 'n Goblins series. He appeared in the Arthur role of the valiant hero who must save his beloved from the clutches of evil in the spin-off games Maximo: Ghosts to Glory and Maximo vs. Army of Zin. His weapon of choice is the Parilla, an unbreakable sword that has been in his family for generations.

Profile[]

Ghosts to Glory profile[]

Maximo was a just ruler, and impressed all with his unmatched fighting abilities. He now sits in Limbo, and King Achille breathes a short gasp of relief. But the King fears the power that Maximo will wield after he equips himself with the enchantments scattered across the land. Should he collect them all, Maximo will become as powerful as Achille! Because of this, the forces of the undead are massed and given one order: stop Maximo at all costs.

Army of Zin profile[]

Maximo is an incredibly gifted swordsman and king of a great land. Despite successfully reclaiming the throne from Achille, he has been mourning the loss of his queen for some time. Maximo hopes that by tracking the Zin and freeing the souls bound up within them, he will finally recover Sophia's lost soul. The task is not going to be easy, and assistance will need to come from a variety of sources.

Abilities[]

Partnership with Grim[]

In Ghosts to Glory, Grim allows Maximo to return from the dead after players loses all their lives, at the cost of Death Koins. The price is not much the first time, but rises exponentially the more Grim is called upon.

In Army of Zin, his partnership with Grim has grown so much that Maximo can now call on his ghastly friend to help in battle. As he collects spirits, the Grim Meter will gradually fill up. When it is full, it signifies the time that Grim is allowed to stay in the land of the living to help Maximo. Upon activation, Maximo will disappear for a short time and Grim will take his place in the fight. When time runs out, Grim is gone and player control shifts back to Maximo, so this ability should be used only in dire circumstances.
