Nagamasa is a character from the Sengoku BASARA series of hack and slash action games.
Profile[]
Nagamasa is the husband of Oichi and brother-in-law of Nobunaga in the game Sengoku BASARA 2. He fights with a sword and shield. Nagamasa's "joke" weapon is a paper umbrella.
In Sengoku BASARA 2: Heroes, his Special Item is the Sword of Light, which remains active for three minutes from the beginning of the stage in which it was equipped. He appears again in Sengoku BASARA 4, which chronologically takes place before the first game in the series.
Story[]
At the end of Chapter 1 of Oichi's Story Mode in Sengoku BASARA 2: Heroes, Nobunaga (after his defeat) attempts to shoot his sister. Nagamasa valiantly takes the bullet for his wife and crumples to the ground dead. Nobunaga leaves Oichi in her misery.
At the end of Chapter 5 of Nagamasa's Story Mode, the outcome is quite different. Nobunaga prepares to shoot, but instead falls over the side of the temple to his seeming death. Nagamasa rescues the abducted Oichi and the two of them walk off together to begin a new chapter.

Azai Nagamasa suffered a crushing defeat in the battle at Anegawa by the hands of his brother-in-law, Oda Nobunaga, against whom he revolted. His sworn friend Asakura Yoshikage, to whom he was the last ray of hope, committed suicide after receiving the Oda army’s fierce attack.
Nagamasa sent his wife, Nobunaga’s sister, and their 3 daughters to Nobunaga; he then committed suicide with a sword in Otani castle. His daughters, Chacha, Ohatsu and Gou, each followed fates of elegant pursuits.
Chacha would become Hideyoshi’s concubine, Yodo-dono, and give birth to his eldest son, Hideyori. After Hideyoshi’s death, it was discovered that Hideyori was not his true successor; thus, confrontation with Ieyasu Tokugawa broke out; after being defeated at Osaka’s summer siege, she committed suicide along with her son.
Ohatsu, Nagamasa's second daughter, tried extensively to mend, as a mediator, the progressively worsening relations between the Toyotomi family, which her elder sister had married into, and the Tokugawa family, which her younger sister married into.
The third daughter, Gou, became the legal wife of the second Tokugawa Shogun Hidetada, and Third Shogun Iemitsu’s mother. Even if Nagamasa had not died, his blood lineage would rule the country.
After being defeated by Nobunaga in 1573, Nagamasa was forced to commit seppuku at Sawayama Castle in exchange for Oichi and their three daughters to return to the Oda.
