RE3Dario

Dario Rosso

Dario Rosso is a minor character in the Resident Evil survival horror games, first appearing in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

Story[]

Dario is a citizen of Raccoon City, whom Jill Valentine encounters in a warehouse at the very beginning of the game. Having lost his daughter Lucia during the zombie outbreak, he locks himself in a container, refusing Jill's offer to aid him and stating that he would rather die from starvation than face the monsters. Later when Jill returns, she finds he has died trying to escape from the warehouse, ironically being eaten by zombies.

Dario's Diary[]

RE3 Dario Dead

Dario's remains

Searching the container that he hid in will yield Dario's diary, in which he describes his aspirations to become a writer. This diary is featured in the Nintendo 64 version of Resident Evil 2 as an "EX File".

"Dario's Memo", a file found in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, reads as follows:

I can't help but wonder if anyone will ever actually read these words, but writing them down helps me keep the last shred of sanity I still have left.

After I've become a meal for those undead monsters, I'm sure the G.I.s responsible for sealing off the town will have a good laugh if they discover this memo.

Is this how it's supposed to end? I don't want to die. I'm not ready... My wife, daughter, mother... My entire family has been killed. But none of that matters anymore. Right now, I have to worry about myself. That's all I have left. I never would have imagined my end to be like this. I had so much left to do. Rather than becoming a salesman, I should have tried my hand at being an author. That's what I always wanted to do, but my mother was less than supportive of my dream.

Why did I ever listen to her?

This looks like the end for the great Dario Rosso, future best-selling author.

Cut down before his prime...

Raccoon City Remake Trilogy Differences[]

  • His role with Robert Kendo are switched, such as losing their families to the zombies.
  • Dario’s minor role is further decreased:
    • His family was never being mentioned, as his role on losing them switch with Kendo, as mentioned above
    • Dario’s died off-screen
    • Only appearance was hiding at a container at insecure warehouse.

Trivia[]

  • Both Dario and his daughter Lucia appear as hostages to be rescued in RE3's "Operation: Mad Jackal" minigame.
  • Dario's name (with his last name misspelled Losso) appears on the Apple Inn's guest list in Resident Evil Outbreak.
