RE4Krauser

Jack Krauser

Jack Krauser (voiced by Jim Ward) is a character from the Resident Evil survival horror games. He first appeared in Resident Evil 4 where he is a mercenary hired by Osmund Saddler and is the one responsible for the kidnapping of Ashley Graham.

Story[]

A former U.S. agent, he was once a close friend of Leon S. Kennedy, until he was presumed dead two years before the events of the game and disappeared. In reality, he infiltrated the cult in order to procure the sample of "Las Plagas" and is actually working for Albert Wesker.

In addition to being a skilled knife fighter and archer, Krauser is also endowed with the ability to transform his left arm into a giant mutated sword-like claw. Leon fights him twice during the course of the game: first in an interactive cut-scene which depicts a knife fight between the two, and later in an in-game battle across a set of ruins on the island. At the end of this battle, Krauser is assumed dead. However, in the "Separate Ways" mini-game he encounters Ada Wong who kills him for good.

Mini-Games[]

Krauser appears as the end boss in the "Assignment: Ada" mini-game. He is also a playable character in the "The Mercenaries" mini-game, in which his claw can be used as a special attack by the player. In addition, the "Ada's Report" documentary expands on Krauser's role in the storyline.

Other Appearances[]

Krauser also appears in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. Shortly after they arrive at their drop point zone in a South American jungle, Krauser tells Leon that he doesn't believe in B.O.W.s. However, after they find themselves having to cooperate during a T-virus outbreak, Krauser becomes more interested in Leon's experiences in the Raccoon City Outbreak. After struggling past various B.O.W.s, they encounter a mysterious girl, Manuela, along with a fierce amphibious B.O.W. boss.

The creature, which turns out to be Manuela's mother, is responsible for crippling Krauser's left arm and thus ruining his career in the Army. By the end of the scenario, Krauser has developed an intense hatred for Leon and is full of jealousy.

Echoing his appearance in "The Mercenaries" mini-game from Resident Evil 4, Krauser returned as a playable character in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.
