Makaimura Online was a spin-off game in the Ghosts 'n Goblins series. It was a planned online MMO game from Taiwanese developer Game Factory and was tested in 2004, but never released. Promotional artwork and screenshots exist of it.
Development[]
Makaimura Online, also called Ghouls & Ghosts Online, was announced in the GDC 2003 to be in development by Capcom and the Taiwanese company Game Factory for multiple platforms, alongside the game Ghouls 'n Ghosts Match Fight,[1][2] but both games were cancelled.
On February 2008, a new version of the game was announced to be in development by the Korean company Seed9 Games, titled Magyechon Online (마계촌온라인, lit. "Makaimura Online") in Korean.[3] A closed beta testing was held in 2011,[4] on March 2012,[5] and on August 2013, followed by an open beta testing on September 2013.[6]
Makaimura Online was accidentally added on Steam Greenlight on September 2013, being removed shortly after as there were no plans for a western release at the time.[7]
