Marionette is a secret character from the Darkstalkers series of fighting games.

ProfileEdit

Marionette (Marionetto in Japan) is a rag doll-like toy (a puppet) creature, resembling a young woman in a leaf-like dress, jester hat, and heels with short hair and a wind up key on her back. It is said that a evil phantom Shadow made a young woman his slave, turning her into a puppet in order to fulfill his task.

Marionette's powers are like some sort of a mirror. She possesses a copy of a dead body that looks like her opponent. As she lowers herself into the body, the strings disappear and the body comes alive. This grants her the ability to know every power, weakness, and secret of her opponent (like looking into a mirror).

TriviaEdit

Marionette first appeared is "Vampire Savior 2: The Lord Of Vampire", and "Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers Revenge".
Marionette's winning music in Vampire Savior 2 plays sad music while Vampire Hunter 2 plays happy music ( To make it more like NightWarriors style). In The Chaos Tower, Marionette's winning music sounds even sadder. It's unknown if they removed her Vampire Hunter 2 music or not.
In PlayStation (Sony) 1 version of Darkstalkers 3, Marionette's intro music sounds a little different than in the original version.
Marionette wind-up key is not fuctional in the game since her sprite is only 1 frame, but it's possible that it'll be functional in future Darkstalkers games.
Marionette also appeared in SNK Vs. Capcom Card Fighting DS as a card, but Shadow didn't make an appearance in it.
On the "Score Ranking" screen in Vampire Savior, Vampire Savior 2, Vampire Hunter 2, Vampire Chronicle, Marionette only show up as a "?" because she appear as a secret character.
