Shadow (ShadowSoul in Japan) is a secret character from the Darkstalkers series of fighting games.

ProfileEdit

Shadow is a malevolent blue phantom-like creature that jumps from body to body, allowing him to use the opponent he just defeated.

Shadow's goal seems to be stealing souls from anyone in order to get stronger and learn everyone's powers, weakness, and secrets that only he can access. His story is a bit mysterious since his ending cliffhangs at the end of the game. The ending credits play a secret music and show the Vs. portrait of every Darkstalkers character in the game.

It is said that he put a curse and made a woman (Marionette) as his slave so he could accomplish his goal even further. It is possible that he appeared from the depths of Jedah's dimension "Majigen".

TriviaEdit

• Shadow has many names (depending on the region): in Japan, he is known as "ShadowSoul", Shadow's other names are "SoulKeeper", SoulCollector", "SoulStealer", but he's mostly known as Shadow.
• On the "Score Ranking" screen in Vampire Savior, Vampire Savior 2, Vampire Hunter 2, Vampire Chronicle, Shadow only show up as a "?" because he a secret character.
• After Shadow defeats Oboro Bishamon (the optional boss in Arcade mode), Shadow did not possess him and it is unknown if Shadow ever possesses him or not since Shadow stops in midsentence and the game ends in a cliffhanger.
• Shadow make a small appearance as a action card in Snk Vs Capcom: Card Fighter's Clash
